Build a better future
We play a really important role in the dynamic STEM landscape, bridging the gap between visionary employers and exceptional talent, and working to create inclusive and accessible STEM opportunities for all.
Our purpose is to build a better future, one job at a time – in 2023 alone, we placed more than 10,000 hires with our client partners worldwide.
One thing we’re particularly proud of is our recently launched “George Materna” fund, named after our founder.
“We understand the financial burden that is placed on people who attend University, but we know if we can't encourage young people to study STEM related courses, we will struggle to fulfil the skills the world requires.
As part of our ongoing efforts to make STEM opportunities accessible to all, we have created this STEM bursary for a student from a socio-economically deprived background, to support them with their university journey.

Building STEM futures
We’ve partnered with The Talent Tap, a charity supporting young people from social mobility cold spots across the UK, to offer residential work experience programmes each summer, helping break down geographical barriers to career opportunities.
Additionally, we work with the Association for Black & Minority Ethnic Engineers (AFBE) to create apprenticeships and placements for engineers from underrepresented backgrounds, advocating for greater diversity in the engineering sector.
Our global commitment
At Gattaca, we prioritise our social and environmental responsibility in order to live our purpose, ‘to build a better future’. Over the last few years, we’ve been on a journey to develop a full Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy and action plan.

“We’re proud to have Net Zero targets and reduction plans, towards which every colleague can contribute. We also support our clients through sourcing talent for their ‘green jobs’.
Our Social pillars, incorporating ED&I, Wellbeing and Philanthropy, offer colleagues a host of learning, development and volunteering opportunities.”

Giving back at Gattaca
Across our six global offices, we encourage our teams to champion the local charity initiatives that matter most to them. With up to five days of volunteering leave, we enable our colleagues to actively engage in their communities and make a meaningful impact.
Across both our local and corporate fundraising efforts, we estimate we have raised in excess of £100,000!
There are a wide range of good causes we support
“In the Cape Town office, there are a wide range of good causes we support.
Every year, I do the Blisters for Bread Walk, which is something I have included the wider Cape Town office in, where the entry fee for the walk feeds hungry children.
The Cape Town office supports Marsh Memorial Children’s Home – we usually do an Easter Egg drive for them every Easter.
We also did a shoe drive last year, where our colleagues donate school shoes or previously loved sneakers to a local school.“
