This is an opportunity to join Matchtech’s Rail Division within the Professional Services division, specialising in contract and permanent recruitment across the UK’s rail infrastructure market.
You’ll join as a Trainee (Associate Delivery Consultant), initially focusing on delivery consultant (resourcing) role with a structured pathway to become a Sales Consultant after 12 months.

The Opportunity
You’ll join an established Professional Services Rail desk, initially focusing on candidate delivery and market learning, before progressing into a full 360 Sales Consultant role. Your progression plan:
0–6 Months – Trainee Phase
• Learn the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle
• Source and engage white-collar rail professionals
• Build talent pools across civils, track, E&P and project services
• Support experienced consultants on live roles
• Generate candidate leads and market insight
6–12 Months – Development Phase
• Take ownership of candidate pipelines
• Build relationships with in-demand rail professionals
• Gain exposure to client requirements and hiring needs
• Develop commercial awareness and sales capability
12+ Months – Sales Consultant
• Move into a full 360 recruitment role
• Manage client relationships and generate revenue
• Build and grow your own specialist desk
Market Specialism
You will recruit for high-demand white-collar rail roles including:
• Site Managers & Site Engineers
• Project Engineers & Engineering Managers
• Construction & Project Managers
• CREs (Contractors Responsible Engineers) & CEMs (Contract Engineering Managers)
• Commercial Managers & Quantity Surveyors (all levels)
• Project Planners & Planning/Controls professionals
