The Opportunity:
As a Experienced Recruitment Consultant, you will take ownership of a high-performing permanent Building Control desk within a genuinely candidate-short, vacancy-rich market. This desk offers realistic and proven earning potential, with experienced consultants delivering 10–15 permanent placements per quarter, translating to circa £200-300k NFI per year.
This is a quality-led, relationship-driven market where success is built through strategic headhunting, strong candidate engagement, and intelligent client qualification - not high-volume CV sending.
What you’ll do:
Manage the full end-to-end permanent recruitment lifecycle across Building Control/RBI roles.
Build and nurture long-term relationships with highly sought-after Building Control Surveyors/RBI's
Partner closely with clients to extensively qualify requirements, shape hiring strategies, and deliver hard-to-find talent through proactive search.
Headhunt passive candidates using market mapping, database intelligence, and targeted outreach.
Use Recruiter, Lusha, and Matchtech’s database to identify, engage, and “open up” candidates through consultative conversations.
Develop your desk through spec recruitment, candidate-led business development, and trusted advisory relationships.
What you’ll bring:
A proven permanent billing track record as a Consultant (sector experience not essential).
Experience working in a candidate-short or candidate-led market.
Strong capability in headhunting, relationship-led recruitment, and candidate care.
Confidence in winning and qualifying roles through candidate-driven strategies.
Commercial mindset with the resilience and motivation to grow a high-performing desk.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence both candidates and clients.
