Join a High-Performing Public Sector Recruitment Team – Learn, Grow, and Make an Impact
As a Recruitment Consultant, you will develop the technical expertise and market awareness to identify, open, and develop new market opportunities in an inclusive and supportive environment.
We are looking for a confident and driven person to join our Highways Public Sector team on a contract desk. You will work with Councils across the UK, where you will typically place Design Engineers, Drainage Engineers, Bridge Engineers as well as Highways Inspectors.
You will grow, what we refer to as “your desk” - your desk in recruitment is a hub of activity, where you'll spend your days connecting with candidates, coordinating interviews, canvassing clients and working closely with hiring managers to successfully fill open vacancy. Sales activities and building relationships will be an integral part of your role.
What’s in it for you?
- Long-Term Career Stability: Join a sector with true staying power — local councils are essential services, meaning consistent demand and job security for the long haul.
- Access to Major Framework Agreements: We’re signed onto a key national framework, giving you immediate access to warm clients and established relationships that make placing easier and faster.
- Proven Pathway to Success: You’ll be joining a team with a strong track record of developing talent — many of our top billers started with no prior experience and are now regular incentive winners and high performers.
We are looking for individuals who are;
- Eager to Learn the Market: We're looking for someone who’s motivated, curious, and ready to get stuck in. You don’t need to know everything — just bring the right attitude and we’ll teach you the rest. Recruitment experience helps but isn’t essential.
- No Sales Experience? That’s Okay: You don’t need a sales background to succeed here. If you're commercially minded, proactive, and willing to learn, we’ll support you in building the skills to thrive.
- Looking for Resilience and Perspective: We value individuals who bring real-world understanding, emotional intelligence, and the ability to navigate challenges — whether gained through work, study, travel, or personal experiences.
What we offer;
- A warm, welcoming team with a positive and inclusive culture.
- Support and mentoring from experienced professionals.
- Flexible working options to support your wellbeing and work-life balance.
- Incentives including all-inclusive team holidays, regular socials, and more.
- Free on-site parking and a competitive benefits package
